Hello everyone! I'm back again with another post and this time for my first 'proper' post I decided to take inspiration from one of my favourite youtube trends and do my own 'who owned each era' post. I decided to do this for GOT7 as they are definitely my ult boygroup (joint with stray kids but this post would have been very short if I had done it for Stray Kids.)

Just a disclaimer before I start out with the era's, I am very much Youngjae and Yugyeom biased and I tried my best to not just pick them for every era, and even then, these are all my own opinion and everyone is entitled to have their own opinions. If you have any differing opinions, feel free to comment them for me to see!

I began with 'Got It?' era aka the iconic 'Girls Girls Girls' era. Now this era was amazing to me, GOT7 truly started off their career with a bang and each member got to show their own individual talents. However, whenever I think of this era my mind goes straight to the ugly dance outside of the JYP building when Mark did his famous "Every lady wants a piece of me" and made a pun by pulling a peace sign during the 'piece' part.

His rap was iconic and his amazing acrobatics during this era was enough for me to give this era to him.

Next up is the iconic 'Got Love', the era that brought us 'A'. Now as I was going through this era all of the boys stood out to be in different ways and I was definitely hit with Jackson and Mark feels; especially in the A+ version dance practice. Although, 'A' is such a boyfriend concept and it fits one member in particular slightly more than the others and that member is Youngjae. Youngjae is the softest, sweetest sunshine I know and this song fits him so well. He can be himself and his personality shines throughout the entire performance.

The era after this was the infamous 'Identity' era with the very infamous 'Stop Stop It'. Okay so this era was extremely hard to pick a stand out member because I mean come on, we’ve all seen the horrible hairstyles and outfit that this era brought. I genuinely had to have a moment of silence for poor Jackson and BamBam who JYP truly did so dirty,, blonde Youngjae was a cutie though, i’ll give this era that. However, despite the wreckage that was this era, it cannot take away from Jaebum absolutely making the best out of a bad situation. Every single performance he gave for this era, Jaebum went so hard. I literally couldn’t take my eyes off of him every time.

Ah, the amazing bop that is 'Just Right.' This song was my introduction to GOT7 and I knew immediately after watching the video that I would love those seven losers and look where we are now. At first when I started to stan GOT7, I focused solely on this era; I listened to the song on repeat, watched the dance practices, watched all the stages, had the music video on loop - the whole lot, they had me whipped. When I first got into GOT7, I would have said that Mark owned this era, his cute facial expression during the dance and his iconic lines sitting on top of the clock had me whipped, I for sure thought I was going to ult Mark.

But after a lot of time thinking, I realised that this entire concept, like ‘A’, suits Youngjae so well! Youngjae is the absolute king of boyfriend concepts. His high positive energy during the dance practices and his pure joy when performing this song draw me completely to Youngjae. This concept was made for him and that’s why I believe that Mr. Choi Youngjae owned the Just Right era. This era was the perfect introduction to GOT7 i’m so glad that this was the first ever video I seen of theirs,,big shout out to Hanco and Kaytie for reacting to this because if it weren’t for them I would have never gotten introduced to this song.

After Just Right, the next concept we seen from GOT7 was the amazing contrast that is 'If You Do'. Now this era is so iconic and it always makes me think of two things; JB and his angry, amazing dancing and BamBam with his iconic lines and that video of him dancing to the chorus in a park

The two of them during this era were so incredibly powerful that it was near enough impossible for me to pick a stand out so I'm going to allow both JB and BamBam to be the owners of this iconic era

Now we move on to the iconic Flight Log eras, beginning with Flight Log: Departure. Okay so don’t hate me, but the first time I heard Fly I just wasn’t sold. I can’t even remember what it was about it, I just couldn’t get into it but after listening to it a lot, especially on planes when I take off, I truly got into the song and it’s now one of my favourite ever songs. I was going to give this era to Youngjae just because everytime I think of this era, my mind goes straight to the iconic video of him at Han River with Coco when straight up spoiled the song by singing the killing line before the song had been released.

However, after relistening to the song I remembered how iconic Mark was in this era; with a good proportion of the rap parts to this song and the flow he has during them, Mark was truly the owner of Fly era. His dancing during performances and the dance practice had me captivated, I really couldn’t take my eyes off of him. The outfits for this era looked amazing on every single one of the members, but again I was completely drawn to Mark every time. In conclusion, Mark is the true owner of fly era, he took the concept and completely had me whipped.

Continuing on from departure, we have the iconic Flight Log: Turbulence. When I think of this era, i always think of Jackson’s iconic platinum blonde hair. Hard Carry was truly an era were the members could showcase their sexy, charismatic stage presence and that is an area where three members truly excel for me; Jackson, Yugyeom and Jaebum. Personally for me, besides Mark’s iconic ‘Hard Carry hey’, the catchiest parts of the song are Yugyeom’s verse and the pre-chorus, especially when Jaebum sings it. Despite that however, Jackson truly took this era and made it his own. His platinum blonde hair, the way he was able to pull off the tragic outfits he was given for performances and his iconic verse at the beginning of the song are all enough for me to say that Jackson truly bias wrecked us all during hard carry era and therefore I have to say that Flight Log: Turbulence was Jackson’s era.

Next we have the final chapter in the flight log trilogy; Flight Log: Arrival. Now the 'Never Ever' era is one of my absolute favourite GOT7 era's. The song is amazing and the content we got for this era was iconic. That being said, this was one of the hardest era's to pick a stand out owner, so I enlisted the help of my trusted assistant Emma. We watched the music video, watched stages and watched pretty much all the content of this era. Again, Jaebeom was fighting for ownership of this era but after watching everything I realised this was the era that made me ult Yugyeom. You can tell he really enjoyed this era just by watching the cooking challenge they did. Yugyeom was harmonising with people and truly more interested in the song than the cake, which definitely can't be said for Jaebeom!.

On top of that, Yugyeom put so much effort into his performance for every single stage and his stage presence was so memorable. This era was for sure Yugyeom's era and i'm so glad this era made me ult him.

Now if you thought the Flight Logs were amazing era's for GOT7, the next few comebacks were so spectacular that they rose to the top of my stan list basically. We begin with '7 for 7'. The queen that brought us bops such as 'Teenager', 'You Are' and 'Firework'. Now this album was very much vocal biased in my opinion; the raps and the rappers were all amazing, don't get me wrong! But the vocals really stood out so much more to me. Now, again Emma helped me to go through the content of this era and when we had finished we were very much split between Jaebeom and Youngjae.

Jaebeom's actual stage presence shines so much in the performances this era! I think it might be due to the fact that he's performing songs that he got to write.

However, that being said, this era really allowed Youngjae's vocals to shine. I get chills everytime he sings in 'You Are' and his charisma during stages for teenager was up there with Jaebeom's and he stole my heart with every performance and for that reason I have to give this era to Youngjae.

Next we have the iconic era that is 'Eyes on You' the legend that brought us 'Look'. Okay so this was my first comeback as an Ahgase and I absolutely loved it. From the songs to the videos and even the style, GOT7 truly created something special with this era. At first I was going to say that Mark owned this era because come ON! Blonde Mark wearing black overalls looking like a whole bad boy is everything!

But then I remembered how bias wrecked I was by mister Park Jinyoung the entirety of this era. His vocals and visuals were killer as always but when you add the amazing dancing and the powerful stage presence (and the cute confusion during the part switch), you can see that Jinyoung truly owned this era.

Now we make our way to the final era that i'm going to talk about today and that is the amazingly aesthetic 'Present: You' era. During this era each of the members caught my eye in different ways. I know it definitely sounds biased but my favourite solo songs from the album were definitely Yugyeom’s, Youngjae’s and Jinyoung’s; Youngjae’s particularly grabs me in a way that I feel like I can feel his pain and his emotion through his lyrics and his vocals. Youngjae is known to be the sunshine member of the group, always showing a positive energy for the camera so to hear him sing a song about suffering in silence absolutely broke me. That combined with his cute stage outfits, including the cute pink beret, and his charisma in each performance and dance practice made him a very big contender for this era.

However, despite ‘Sunrise’ not being one of my favourite solo songs, in almost every live stage and dance practice I find myself looking for Jaebum. His vocals were showcased brilliantly and he goes so hard with every single video I watched this era whether it be a live stage, suit version dance practice, pyjama version dance practice and even his switch m/v to bambam’s ‘Party’. If i were to show anyone a fancam of a lullaby performance my first choice would be Jaebum just because of his charisma especially in the pre-chorus and his part of the chorus (especially when he isn’t holding a microphone and he sticks his hand in his pocket making it look so effortless yet so chic). It got to the point where he was even bias wrecking me in the Dingo Jackpot Live challenge and for that I definitely have to say that Jaebum absolutely made the era his own.

And thus concludes the end of this extremely long post that took me way too long! In all honesty I enjoyed doing this post so much, it was super fun going through all the content for each era, it really reminded me how much I truly love GOT7.

Thank you for reading this post! Remember if you have any differing opinions to comment them or leave them here curiouscat.me/omgeenelly !
